Cocktail of the Week: June 29, 2015

Red, White, and Blue Pina Colada

Red, White, and Blue Pina Colada

Ingredients:

  • Pina Colada Mix
  • Blue Curacao
  • Strawberry Daiquiri-Margarita Mix
  • Captain Morgan White Rum
  • Ice

Directions:

Add 1/2 cup of ice to a blender.  Add 2oz Pina Colada Mix, 1.5oz white rum, and 1.5 oz Blue Curacao.  Blend until thick and smooth.  Pour this bottom layer into a tall glass.  Add 1 cup of ice, 4oz Pina Colada Mix, and 3oz of white rum to the blender and blend until smooth.  Layer about half of blended mixture into the glasses using a spoon.  Add 2oz of Strawberry Daiquiri-Margarita Mix to the pina colada still in the blender and blend again.  Using a spoon, add the final layer to your glasses.  Have a happy and safe 4th of July!

Pisco Punch

Ingredients:

  • Campo de Encanto Pisco
  • Pineapple Juice
  • Lime Juice

Directions:

In a tall glass with ice, miz 2oz. Campo de Encanto Pisco with 1oz pineapple juice and 1oz lime juice.  Garnish with a piece of fresh pineapple.  This drink was a classic in the old Wild West when immigrants from Peru brought Pisco with them to Western mining towns during the California Gold Rush.

Gimlet

Gimlet

Ingredients:

  • Gin
  • Lime Juice

Directions:

In a shaker with ice, combine 2oz of your favorite gin (I like Hendrick's), with 1/2oz of Taste of Florida Lime Juice (more lime juice can be added to suit your tastes, up to the point where you have equal parts lime juice and gin).  Shake and strain into a martini glass garnished with a lime.
